Community sense of belonging

CLN seeks to cultivate a sense of belonging by offering the Hispanic community a place to gather, ways for Hispanic culture to be celebrated, alongside the melange of cultures that make our region such a rich place to live.  We also cultivate a sense of belonging by intentionally surfacing and developing local leaders to build their capacity to organize and grow civic power.  

In this area of work, we intend to partner with Newport’s cultural and religious organizations to ensure that the Hispanic community has a role to play in important cultural and civic moments including music, theater, government, school improvement, amongst others. We also make our Hispanic Community Access Center accessible to the Hispanic community by bringing social, educational and developmental programs and events into the heart of the community.
